[VIDEO] Music of the Mindanao Muslims Uwang Ahadas

To preserve indigenous music, he teaches his village members how to play the kwintangan kayu. He began by teaching his children and then extended his knowledge to individuals outside of his village. Despite having a vision problem and diminishing vision, he managed to maintain and promote Yakan music, even if it meant exhausting travel from place to place. Kwintangan Kayu is made up of five different-sized hardwood logs that are hung horizontally in order from shortest to longest. This is played after the rice has been served to serenade the palay. The MUSIC of the kwintangan kayu is said to bring a plentiful crop.
