[DRAWING] Art of Kudyapi Intrument

In the art of kutyapi playing, Samaon Sulaiman acquired the highest level of excellence. The kutyapi is a popular solo instrument among both Muslim and non-Muslim Filipinos, and it can also be used in a group setting. It's known as kotapi in Subanon, fegereng in Tiruray, faglong in B'laan, hegelong in T'boli, and kuglong or kudlong in T'boli, and comes in a variety of forms, shapes, and sizes Manobo.

One of the reasons why those younger generation isn't interested in learning the Magindanao kutyapi or kudyapi is because it is one of the most difficult technical and traditional Filipino instruments to master. When it comes to strings, however, one serves as a repeated drone, while the other has movable frets that allow melodies to be played in two sets of pentatonic scales, one of which incorporates harmonic tones.
